"I have done a couple of 10ks since I started running and they have always fell short of the distance. The Timberhonger 10k was a bang on with distance, so I now know what to aim for.  Also, I must say what an excellent and well organsied race it was. It had road closures, plenty of signage, marshalls along the route and along with two water stations. The finsih was excellent, you got your medal, a chocolate bar, a bottle of water and of course your voucher for the bottle of beer which you collect from the beer tent. There was a great atmosphere around the park because of the carnival being held that weekend. I cannot fault. Excellent work, I will be back next year." Newsole

I have run this race several times over the last few years and it is always great. Really friendly and organisation by the local club is far better than any commercially organised race " Pangy

Well organised and challenging race, really enjoyed it.  Great atmosphere with it being part of the carnival weekend. Nice time in the weekend to race and the organisation and course for the 10km is brill. Kids race was also excellent, only gripe was 5 per child for a 3 and a 4 year old seemed steep (but I would pay it again as they loved it), and could there be a one lap option for those that can't manage two laps?" Matt the Brum

"Fantastic race, very well organised. This was the second year I'd run this, attracted back by the excellent organisation and challenging course. It didn't disappoint, once again very well organised, friendly race. Ok so the hill at 8k is not much fun, but it's a challenge! Keep up the good work with this one, it's appreciated!"  Richard Cookson

"Friendly and undulating!!  First timer at 10k and at this popular local event. Yes there are inclines but with enough training they aren't too bad.  Marshalls really cheer you on and a surprising number of locals considering you run out in the sticks. Very well organised and great change to have a medal rather than another t-shirt....Mars bar was ace too :) "  Louise Morey

"Hilly! Could do with chip timing. First 1k at least is VERY crowded."  Matty Evans

"Fun as ever.  Great race, well marshalled, evening running of this event has enhanced it also. Well done organisers see you next year."  Buttscratcher

"Great race-will definately be back for a 3rd time. This is a very well organised and friendly race. I have run two years running and both times I think it would be difficult to pick fault with any element of the organisation.  My only word of warning is that it is quite a challenging course for complete beginners as the hills are quite tough and I struggled the first year I did it. Having said this, there are lots of friendly marshalls so cheer you on and keep you motivated along the way."  Sophie Smith

"Interesting course though congested at times. Some problems when the faster runners try to lap the slower runners on the narrow lane. Not helped by earphones-wearing runners not hearing requests to keep to one side. Otherwise an enjoyable race."  Steven Brough

"This was all the better for being organised at the same time as a festival in the park. The scenery is good with a mix of down and up hill which if managed effectively could give a good time. Friendly and well guided with a nice finish in the park giving a feeling of arriving into a buzzing atmosphere."  Sanjet

"Well organised, challenging race." I love Pies

"A feel good race. As a relatively new runner (this was only my 2nd 10k race) I found the ups and downs a good challenge! The uphill at around the 7.5km mark was a bit of a challenge, but it felt BRILLIANT to have reached the top! The remainder downhill was a lovely way to finish."  HCParker

"My first event and will do it again next year if only to beat that last hill, the heat was horrendous too but well organised and lots of runners at different abilities" Graham Maskell

"Hill - what hill, there's a short gentle slope which is a challenge.  The organiser needs a new megaphone. Most of the people couldn't hear the comments he was making before the start " Scotty Dog

"Really friendly, great atmosphere, challenging without being too tough"  Richard Cookson

"Challenging, undulating course for experts and novices alike - all on closed roads." The Racing Mule

"Very nice race, good mix of up and downhill"  Ashley Baldwin

"Challenging race ,well organised"  Frank Walsh

"What Hill?!  Decent race and good organisation. 1st 2K starts off on a climb but not too bad. This is followed by a couple of 2K loops with narrow roads. On this part of the course you get 2 opportunities for water. You also get to lap people who are supposed to be on the right! Hmmm. With the loop out of the way you make your way back home, with the well advertised hill around 7.5K in which lasts for around 1.5 K ish. To be fair its not the worst hill in the world and I've seen and done a lot worse (Cobra Classic) recently. With the hill out of the way you get the chance for a downhill dash for the final 1.2K with the finish in Sanders Park. At the finish you get a medal and a bottle of water (hurrah, no dodgy T-Shirt!)  All in all quality race, the only suggestion would be, is to introduce a timing chip!"  Corky Tough Guy
